grammy glam

I think many agree that this year's Grammy Awards were a misfire. Instead of highlighting the achievements of actual musicians, they went for a noisy, hip, VMA-approach.

Here were my favorite looks. Who were your favorites?

Lady Gaga needs her own section. Unfortunately, the producers chose not to televise her dance recording wins. She was shafted.

Miley Cyrus, in Herve Leger. OK, I struggled putting her on my faves list. I find her annoying but I have to admit, I love this dress and for once I think she dressed her age and perfectly for the event at hand.

Mary J. Blige, in Gucci. Love this color on her!

Carrie Underwood, in Edition by Georges Chakra

Beyonce, in Stephane Rolland. I love the Aztec shapes on it.

Sheryl Crow, in Bottega Veneta. Kind of plain, but I thought it was pretty. Not sure if she can pull of those earrings.

  1. I think you articulated it perfectly. It really was a "VMA" approach. Thanks for that insight.

As for the fashion, I was underwhelmed. Lady Gaga was totally on target, and that's the only thing I can say positive. So I shall stop there :)

  2. My Faves: Lea Michele, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood (loved her hair!), and this one may be controversial but I kinda liked Pink's weird red carpet dress. I will agree with you on Miley's dress however it's time for all of that hair to go!

My Least Faves: Fergie (will someone please please please tell her a middle hair part doesn't work for her???), Katy Perry, and Britney Spears

  3. I'm over Gaga's ridiculous outfits. Loved Mary J in that Gucci gown, but I haven't seen everyone yet...gotta watch Fashion Police tonight!

P.S. That was the worst Grammy show EVER, even with the hour long break for Desperate Housewives.

  4. Gaga's outfits were so...Gaga, but she does it well. Although I'm surprised she didn't put someone's eye out with that headpiece.

I thought Miley's dress suited her well.

Beyonce...I love her, but something about her choices was just off to me.

  5. I agree with you about the VMA comparison. I hate Lady Gaga, so wasn't sad she was "shafted." LOL...I did a post on the fashion today too, check it out! Kori xoxo

  11. Gaga ruled the night, in my opinion. :)
I totally agree with you about Miley. I'm not a fan of hers at all, but even I have to admit she looked pretty cute at the Grammys. That dress was perfect for her.
Oh gosh and Carrie Underwood was just a goddess...sigh.
    Love your blog!

  12. Didn't the whole show feel so frenetic? I don't enjoy the Grammys as much as I like the oscars or even the globes. I'm not a square or a communist but they just always feel so scattered and all over the place with ridiculous music mashup performances that seem better in theory than in actual performance. I never feel fulfilled. Is that wrong? Does that make me a bad person? What? It does?! Well how dare you!
