paintings by mike bayne

From his site:

"Mike Bayne's exquisitely rendered paintings capture North American scenes that are familiar and iconic.  At first glance, they are often mistaken for small photographs; yet, they somehow capture a reality that photographs are unable to.... Bayne's work commonly depicts human absence and isolation, the viewer often gets a sense of "being there," the result of such an accurate depiction."    -Katharine Mulherin

  1. great work... they really do look like photographs, in some parts.

  2. seriously, these are paintings? i had to give each of them a closer look and yes, there's no denying that these are paintings. but some of them look unbelievably real photos even when i'm staring at them up close! great works of art here. thanks for sharing :)
